Did you know that Austin, Texas, is also known as Bat City? This weeks featured rental property in Austin is in honor of the bat I found hanging in our window at 3 am last weekend. Halloween, my favorite holiday, is right around the corner too so here we go!
From March to November folks congregate on the Anne W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge at sunset to watch thousands of bats emerge. The bats first colonized here in the early 80’s. They were feared by the public at first but the city has learned to embrace the colony and all the insect populations they help control. Click here to learn more about this spectacal.
This home is on East Cesar Chavez Street in Austin, Texas. It’s blocks from 6th street and close to the the Rainey Street Historic District. The exposed beams, ventilation, and flooring in this Austin home give it a modern appeal and remind me of a brewery we visit often here in Ohio.

I’ve visited Austin twice in my life but both trips were so many years ago that I can’t begin to remember all the sites. So, in the spirit of Halloween, here are a few festivals in Austin during the month of October. To learn more, click on the festival that peaks your interest.
