Did you know Cedar Point was ranked the “Best Amusement Park” in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards? It was also mentioned in the Amazon Prime series The Boys. To close out our summer this year my husband and I piled the boys in the car and headed north. Having grown up only a few hours away from Cedar Point we’d only experienced day trips. This time we were staying overnight! The Cedar Point Peninsula offers several places to stay:

Hotel Breakers

We chose to stay at Hotel Breakers. The decision was pretty easy. Our stay was only one night, we don’t have a boat or an RV, and we wanted to walk to the amusement and water parks. Here’s a quick rundown of what Hotel Breakers offers its guests:

  • Package deals for admissions to the amusement and water parks
  • Early entry to the amusement and water parks
  • Hotel is steps away from amusement and water park entrances
  • Rooms and suites are available
  • Free parking
  • Waterfront views and balconies
  • 2 outdoor pools, a water playground, an indoor pool, and hot tub
  • Beach and boardwalk access
  • TGI Fridays, Perkins, TOMO Hibachi Grill, Starbucks, and a Surf Lounge
  • Outdoor seating around fire pits
  • Arcade, fitness center, and gift shop
  • Parasailing and jet ski rentals

We had a blast! Sadly, we weren’t able to take full advantage of everything our package offered in 2 short days. We were, however, able to ride Steel Vengeance, Valravn, Top Thrill Dragster, Rougarou, and the Antique Cars (for the baby) in just 2 hours with our early entry passes. This was a win considering Steel Vengeance had a 3 hour wait on our first day. We were also able to check out of the hotel and head over to Cedar Point Shores Waterpark until we headed for home later that day. We enjoyed our trip so much we plan on returning next year for 3-4 days.

  • Arrive as early as possible to take advantage of Early Entry passes.
  • Refer to the FAQ’s on the Cedar Point website for answers to questions about discounts, security, food and drinks, and more.
  • I saw at least 2 entrance/exits to the amusement park that were very close to Hotel Breakers and not nearly as crowded as the main entrance.

At this time of year the water park is closed for the season and the amusement park is only open on the weekends for Halloweekends.

One of the reasons I fell in love with my husband was his passion for traveling. As a stay at home mother and stepmother, I look forward to vacations just as much as the working man. Traveling can be exhausting so I've dedicated this blog to share my own experiences and make your next trip as relaxing as possible.
